The Story of The Embrace Pendant
My name is Amy Thomas. I am British, but now live in Edmonton, AB, Canada with my husband Karl, (who is also British) and our 3 year old daughter Chloe.
My husband Karl has two children who live in England with their mum. We travel back and fourth to see the kids 2-3 times a year. This year of course has been very different. Due to the travel restrictions from Covid-19 it has now been over a year since we have seen Karl’s children.
When it started to look like we would have to cancel our plans to travel to England over Christmas I assured Karl we would do absolutely anything we could to make sure we can spend as long as possible with the kids once it’s safe to do so. With that in mind, I decided to try and come up with a new business venture that would be meaningful, somehow have a positive impact on this stressed and rather distanced world, and hopefully help us accommodate a couple of extended trips to the UK, allowing for quarantine on both sides if needed.
The idea for the necklace came quite simply from wanting to be able to bottle a hug and send it to everyone for Christmas!
We are continuously looking into ways we can use the Embrace to help spread a bit of extra cheer this year and have been giving necklaces away to people who have been impacted, or made a significant impact (mainly frontline healthcare workers).
Every single purchase is significant, and makes an impact. Thank you for helping us spread a little bit of cheer, in a very challenging year.
